title: Be Well Info (Http://Be-Well.Info) Web Site Helps to Sort Out Good Health Advice from Nonsense by Patent Pill Pushers And Other Quacks.

summary: Wellness is a healthy lifestyle. Scorn bad health advice which goes against biology, chemistry, physics, common sense, and embrace that which is supported by direct clinical studies.

Wellness is a healthy lifestyle. All we need to know for good health is readily available on the internet, along with an even greater amount of health advice that is just plain wrong. We need to focus on what is supported by direct clinical studies, and scorn that which goes against biology, chemistry, physics, common sense. Valid folk knowledge and art can precede science, but homeopathy is just utter nonsense, left over from witchcraft.

For example, physics tells us that mass is not created out of thin air. If it’s on your body, it came in through your mouth, regardless of your genetic heritage. Inheritance gives us tendencies and possibilities. Our choices and circumstances decide which ones will be realized.

Long before statin drugs were invented, Nathan Pritikin reversed a nearly fatal heart condition through low fat smart diet, daily exercise, and going against his physician’s recommendations. Subsequent studies have shown that healthy diet and easy exercises help us to resist most common scary diseases. And obesity is proven to make nearly every disease worse.

It does not take much effort to choose healthy eating of fresh or dried fruit over candy and pastries, nor to walk 2 miles in 30 to 45 minutes on four to seven days per week. Yet we’d rather shop for magic pills. On the other hand, Vitamin and mineral supplements are supported by scientific studies… but not in mega doses.

Wishful thinking does not make anything true. How can Acai berry put weight on cattle in Brazil, yet take it off people in North America?

Herbal products are a multi billion dollar per year business. Unless obviously causing death, herbals are totally unregulated. All the seller has to do is offer a money back guarantee, and state that, “The products and the claims made about specific products on or through this site have not been evaluated by the United States Food and Drug Administration and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.”

Shocking truth: Some great medicines have been derived from plant sources, but not every herbal tonic is healthful, or even safe to ingest.

Another shock: Just because health information comes from a pharmaceutical company, medical doctor, or dietician does not make it true. Gasp!

Numerous pills and powders have been offered as fat blocker, starch blocker, and fat excreter. If they work, they are risky. How foolish. Any meal plan can be modified to reduce fat and sugar, or to smaller servings. Internet search finds thousands of sources for healthy recipes to replace those which are causing excess weight.

The ONLY reliable “natural weight loss” is making calorie intake less than calories used. Eat less of high energy foods or exercise more.

It should be no surprise that tobacco, obesity, excessive alcohol, and little exercise are the major causes of debility, early death, even Alzheimer’s disease.

Not only do diet and exercise help reduce the risk of diseases, but recent reports show they can also help people already with disease, ranging from heart problems to prostate cancer.

Wrangling over health care reform is both funny and sad. Nowhere are there incentives for people to take responsibility for their own actions. Billions of dollars could be saved each year with sensible life style education.

Perhaps health insurance should be treated like INSURANCE, not as an ENTITLEMENT. Make health care low cost or free for people who follow good diet and exercise plans, and very expensive for everyone else. Insurance is supposed to help people who experience bad luck, not reward folks who are lazy, wilful, or just plain stupid. And reward health care providers who are effective and efficient, not those who just order standardized procedures to ward off legal actions.
