“NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – As little as 15 minutes of physical activity a day can substantially cut death rates in men with prostate cancer, new research hints.” … “We recommend that men with prostate cancer do some type of physical activity for their overall health, even if it is a small amount, such as 15 minutes of activity per day of walking, jogging, biking, or mild gardening. Vigorous activity may be especially beneficial for prostate cancer, as well as overall health.”
Studies on several thousand men over 22 years (a) confirmed that moderate exercise benefits overall health and resistance to numerous diseases, and (b) moderate to heavy exercise can even put off death from cancer.
As discussed in Easy Exercise All Ages, “Just a few of the conditions resisted by exercise are: angina, arthritis, breast cancer, colon cancer, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, depression, gallstone disease, heart attack, high blood cholesterol, high blood triglyceride, hypertension, lessened cognitive function (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease), low blood HDL, lower quality of life, obesity, osteoporosis, pancreatic cancer, peripheral vascular disease, physical frailty, premature mortality, prostate cancer, sleep apnea, stiff joints, stroke, type 2 diabetes, spinal injury, weak bones, and more.”
Easy Health Diet describes how the author lowered his cholesterol levels by 35.7 percent, using only diet and moderate exercise, while returning to his weight of age 16. Statin pills are not needed in almost all cases, if we just give nature half a chance.
This latest news report goes further by saying we might even be able to undo some of the bad effects of prior sloppy living.
It is actually easy to choose fruits over candies and pastries. And it does not take much effort to walk 2 miles in 30 to 45 minutes. So do it!
